A cast copper alloy sword or dagger hilt guard. The guard is ovoid in plan with sharpely curved terminals, is flat on both the top and bottom and has a central hole for the tang (also pointed oval in shape), which would have seperated the blade from the hilt. Undecorated. 15th to 16th century AD.
