A cast copper-alloy thimble of probable late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It has straight sides, a rounded/pointed top and a slightly thickened rim with single circumferential groove. On the underside of the rim there is at least one triangular notch resultant from manufacture. The sides are covered with extensive (possibly hand-made?) circular pits that form vertical rows, before spiralling from the shoulder to the top of the thimble. It measures 17.75mm in height, 16.42mm in base diameter and weighs 7.04g. It probably dates to the 15th or 16th centuries AD (see Holmes, 1991: p. 1, fig. 2b).
