A fragment of a Roman greyware vessel dating from about 43-410 AD. The fragment consists of part of the base and part of the vessel wall. The fabric is hard with a fairly fine texture. It contains frequent well sorted grit and quartz inclusions. The external side has a slightly rough texture and is undecorated; there is a marked collar at the base. Internally, the fabric is smoother and has pronounced ridges from the potter's fingers. The base diameter is 90mm.
