A gold half noble of Edward III's Treaty Series dating from 1363 to 1369, North number 1238. It was minted in London. The coin is in good condition but has been slightly clipped.
Obverse: EDWARD DEI G REX ANGL D [HYB Z AQT], King standing facing in a ship, crowned and wearing armour, holding sword in right hand and shield with quartered arms of England and France in left. Saltire stops.
Reverse: DOMINE NE IN FVRORE TVO ARGVAS ME, Floriated cross with a lis at the end of each limb amd an ornamented compartment containing the King's initial in the centre; in each angle, a lion passant, guardant with a crown above; all within a tressure of eight arches.
