A cast copper-alloy button of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is heart shaped in form, with each half of the front face obliquely angled and expanding towards thickened outer edges. On the back face is an integrally cast transverse loop with circular aperture. The button is decorated with a single incised groove around its edges that has multiple transverse grooves. On each half of the front face is furtehr incised decoration comprising a central groove, a grooved border and alternating groups of incised diagonal grooves on each half. It has a dark brown patina and measures 18.18mm in length, 15.84mm in width, 15.43mm in thickness/depth and 9.34g in weight.

This is a copper-alloy button of later Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It find parallels in a number of examples recorded through the PAS database (e.g. NMS-1AF821, SUSS-FB1301, NMS-8A0391, NLM1116 and WILT-175AD7) and probably dates to between the 15th and 17th centuries AD.
