Lead
Possible Window Came. Cast strip with a pair of leaves apparently unclenched on one side, and a ridge suggesting trimming on the other. The object lacks the massy H section of medieval came, but is equally thicker than the milled post-medieval cames which held lighter thinner panes of glass. This piece probably came from the edge of a leaded window. Reported along with lead working debris and offcuts of sheet lead. Suggested date: Late Medieval to Early Post-Medieval, 1450-1550.
Length: 65.5mm, Width: 12.0mm, Thickness (individual leaves): 2mm, Weight: 13.80gms.
