A collection of 22 Post Medieval ceramic vessel sherds, mainly Slipwares, Cistercian Wares, and Black Wares dating from about 1550 - 1750.
There are 13 sherds of brown and white slipwares. Some have red and some have yellowish fabrics. They all have white / yellow slip on a dark brown background. There is one base and two rim sherds.
Five sherds have a red fabric and a black glaze (blackware), a 17th century development of Cistercian Ware. One is a wall sherd with the decoration at the base of a handle, two are handles, and two are bases.
There are two sherds which have a mottled brown/black glaze. One has a red fabric and the other has a very dark grey colour. One is a handle and the other is the wall where the handle attaches.
The last two sherds are both base fragments. One is a yellow fabric with a thick glassy dark brown to black glaze on both faces. The other is a red fabric with a rich red brown glaze on both faces. The glaze on the outer face stops 1.5cm above the base. This sherd may be of later date than the others.
