Terret ring fragment Fragment of a copper alloy terret ring. It is broken at both ends, leaving less than a quarter of the full ring. The ring is circular in cross section, and is decorated near one end with a double lip moulding. There is iron corrosion all along the fragment, which obscures some of the surface detail, but it is possible that this piece has been mis-cast. Parallels: The form of the lips is very similar to many of the terrets in the related 1843 hoard, being most similar to M.54, Spratling's (2011) style group III. Measurements: Length: 53.2mm; diameter of ring: 7.2mm; diameter of lip moulding: 16.08mm; weight: 24g

Notes:

Part of a larger hoard. Other objects can be found on the following records.
