A lead spindle whorl dating to the Late Medieval period. One side of the spindle whorl is bioconical and decorated with raised dots alternating with transverse lines. The other side of the spindle whorl has small blundered lettering around the outer edge, and raised dots around the inner edge. There is a circular central perforation. The metal is dark grey. The object weighs 49.19g, measures 30mmin diameter and is 13mm thick. For a parallel see Griffiths, D., Philpott. and Egan, G., (2007). Meols.
