Roman base silver denarius of Maximinus I (235-8), probably dating to AD 235 (Reece Period 11), PAX AVGVSTI, Pax standing facing left holding transverse sceptre and branch in right hand. Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 140, no. 12; BMC VI, p. 222, cf. nos. 5-6. The coin is worn, but the bust appears to be of the AD 235 issue.
Notes:
The coin appears brown, probably due to the base-ness of the silver used and the local soil conditions.
