An early medieval silver sceat, Series S (Type 47), Metcalf type 2a although with a right-facing centaur, minted c. 730-c. 740.

Dimensions: 12.3mm in diameter, 1.1mm thick. Weight: 0.8g.

Notes:

The right-facing variety is rare but not unknown, and this coin appears to be a die duplicate of EMC 2001.0022 found at Micheldever (Hampshire).
