A base fragment of a Medieval or Post Medieval ceramic vessel. It would have had a base diameter of about 18cm. The fabric is bright orange with a slightly more buff coloured core. It is fairly hard and has a sandy, gritty, pimply surface. The inclusions are mainly well sorted quartz and grey grits, but with occasional large red pieces (probably grog). The breaks are abraded.
