A medieval copper alloy single-loop sub-triangular buckle. Greatly expanded outer edge terminating in trefoil moulding with groove for pin and engraved zig-zag line borders on front. Narrowed and off-set strap bar. Pin missing. It measures 18.7mm (length) x 22.2mm (width) x 3.1mm (thickness) and weighs 3.32g. Whitehead (1996, 24) dates these buckle to c.1250-1400 - see p.24, particularly no.s 111 & 112, and a very similar buckle has been previously recorded on the database as DENO-8BF094.
