One terminal of a pair of post-Medieval tongs (c. 1600-c. 1700 AD).
These tongs were used by tobacco pipe smokers to pick up burning embers to ignite the tobacco. The terminal is in the form of flat stylised human hand.

It has traces of a dark green patina and the break is old.
32.8 x 8.7 x 3.9mm. Weight: 2.04g.
