A corroded cast copper-alloy awl or tracer of possible Bronze Age date. The artefact has a thin body with circular cross-section that tapers to a point. There is a pair of small parallel ridges which run along the circumference of the artefact at edge where the body becomes the tang. The 'tang' is sub-rectangular in cross-section, tapering gradually to it tip and is now bent to one side. Such construction is typical of prehistoric awls which are thought to date from the Late Bronze Age. The object has a mid to light green patina; the surface of the tang is pitted in places revealing a light-green corrosion product.
