A gold finger-ring of 15th century medieval date. The ring is made from a flat rectangular band with a narrow rectangular cross section. The surface of the ring has been decorated with two bands of incised bands of crosshatching either side of a raised undecorated central rib. The inside surface is undecorated. The ring shows signs of wear and has been squashed out of shape.
Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
