Roman copper alloy Hod Hill bow brooch, 26mm long, 17mm wide and 3mm thick. The brooch is quite worn and weighs 2.21grams. It has a rectangular formed head with a slight recess for a hinged pin, now missing. Below this it has triangular shaped protrsusions sitting above a tapering bow. The bow has slight bumps running down its length, suggesting ridges. It is similar to eg 316, Fig 181 in Hattatts Visual catalogue.
