A cast post-medieval copper-alloy rectangular double looped buckle. The face of the buckle is steeply beveled, the bevel having a slight concave profile. The surface of the buckle both front and back has been tinned or lacquered, most of which remains intact. A doubled over copper-alloy strap plate 34 mm x 13mm is attached to the buckles central pin bar, the pin groove in the plate has accrued corrosion material which could possibly be the remains of an iron pin. A single rivet hole at the opposing end of the plate also contains corrosion material possibly from an iron rivet. The addition of the strap plate may indicate an earlier date rather than a later one.
