A gold finger ring made of a flattened band engraved with flowers and leaves on the external face. The engraving is split into three parts with words engraved between each. From comparable examples these are likely to be in French and may read 'en bon an' which was a fairly common phrase meaning 'a good year'.
Notes:
This finger ring is similar to other examples found in Lewes, East Sussex (2004 T385a & b, 2004 T429, 2004 T430) (Treasure Annual Report 2004, p 111, no 207)
