Cast copper alloy strap end length 33mm, width 7mm, thickness 3mm weight 1.97g. Rectangular shape with slightly convex edges. The forward edge of the strap end has a crude animal facemask. The main decoration consist a rectangular panel containing complex knotwork, possibly zoomorphic. The rear of the strap end is damaged but there are the remains of a single large rivet hole. This is possibly a Thomas class A type 1 which dates it to the late 8th early 10th century,
