A lead alloy tally or token, probably dating to the 16th or 17th century. The token has a crude letter E or M within a slightly raised circular border on one face while the other is plain. There is a slight spur protruding from one edge of the token and this may be where it was connected to other tokens in a mould before being clipped apart. It is unclear what these tokens were used for but one suggestion is that they were agricultural tallies.
