A worn and incomplete copper alloy gilded oval plate brooch dating to the late Roman period. The brooch is oval in plan and has a recessed oval centre that would have once contained a black glass setting. The surface would have been gilded but none now remains. The reverse has a casting seam down the centre and the remains of a catchplate. The pin mechanism is missing.
