Sub circular stone implement, lenticular in section. It is fashioned from a fine dark greenish gray, close grained, hard stone containing frequent white flecks. One side is very smooth, the other appears to have been flaked or split leaving a rougher irregular surface. The proximal end is thick and has what appears to be part of the original surface still surviving at the top of the ventral side; the implement thins towards the distal end. There is what appears to be very rough retouch around the edges away from the butt. This is mostly visible on the dorsal side suggesting it was worked from the ventral side. It was found on the foreshore and appears to have been heavily rounded and polished since deposition.
Interpretation: Possibly a very crude discoidal knife formed by splitting a pebble and retouching the edges to provide a cutting tool. Late Neolithic?
