Cast copper-alloy button with silver sheet cover dating from the post-medieval or early modern period, i.e. c. AD1700-1800. The button is composed of a cast copper-alloy body with integrally cast attachment loop in the centre of the reverse and a thin silver sheet cover. The decoration was probably on the sheet only and not on the underlying body. The decoration was machine-incised, not handmade: it is composed of a number of underlying fine centric circles with three wider, wavy-lined circles on top.
