Medieval copper alloy stirrup shaped buckle, 23mm long, 14mm wide and 4mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.23 grams. The object is sub-rectangular in form and section, with one flat edge with a recess to hold the pin. The other part is curved and terminates with a central sub-rectangular pin rest. Several similar examples are illustrated in the Meols report where they are dated to 14th century. (Griffiths et al. 2007, 94, no.622ff).
