MORTARIUM

Body sherd of a mortarium. The fabric is orange on the exterior while the centre is dark grey, moderate very small and occasionally quite large voids. Mainly quartz grits are impressed into the concave inner surface. The carination between the base and body survives. The outer surface is smooth but irregular and undulating. No decoration or marks visible. The base is 13.91mm thick thinning to 8.99mm towards the top of the sherd.
