An incomplete late Medieval copper alloy strap end dating from about 1250-1450. The object is sub rectangular in form and section and formed from two sheet plates and a central forked spacer, riveted together by a single copper alloy rivet at each end. It has a straight attachment end and tapers slightly to a pointed terminal with a small pointed knop. The object is undecorated and has a patina which is medium-green, with patches of light green throughout. Similar strap ends may be found on the database at PAS record IDs: LEIC-2468D3 and SWYOR-5223C2. In Egan and Pritchard (2002) Dress Accessories there are similar strap ends, especially page 142, number 662 and those on page 147.
