A fragment of a ceramic vessel of medieval date. The fragment is part of the handle of a jug and consists of the upper part of the handle at the point where it meets the body of the jug. The fabric is fine-grained and a pale orange in colour. The handle is fairly elaborate with two raised ridges running along its length framed by the up-turned outer edges of the handle. The handle is roughly oval in section. A light olive green glazer coats the surface of the vessel fragment though the colour is uneven, appearing darker in some areas.
The handle fragment is 72mm long, 65.5mm wide, 26.7mm thick and weighs 113g.
The fabric appears similar to that described by Jennings (1992: p.27-29) as Humber Ware.
