A rim sherd of a ceramic vessel dating from the Medieval period. It of probably a form of Northern gritty ware. It has a square rim with a seating for a lid. The fabric is dark buff coloured with a dark grey surface and a more orange core. It has many irregularly sized inclusions of quartz. The rim diameter is about 19 cm. The wall thickness is 5.1mm.
