A copper-alloy buckle plate of probable Medieval date.
The plate is made from a folded sheet of copper alloy and is rectangular in plan and drop-shaped in profile. There is a rectangular slot in the folded end and a circular perforation in the rectangular end of the plate that attached the plate to a strap. A rectangular-headed rivet has been punched through both the upper and lower surface, with its pointed terminal hooked back.
