A Post Medieval cast copper alloy button. The button is discoidal with a convex front face. There is crude hand incused design on its upper surface whilst the back is dished and plain. The design on the front consists of three annulets at the centre arranged in a trefoil, this is surrounded by a circle made up of small triangular punches. Outside of this there is a crude seven pointed star which in turn is surrounded by a circle comprised of hemispherical punch marks. In the centre of the reverse there is the remains of a integral drilled loop. There is a similar button illustrated in Bailey; Buttons and Fasteners (2004) p35 No.8.23. which is dated to the 17th century.
