A copper alloy French jetton dating from the Late Medieval period. There is a shield of France on the obverse, and a triple stranded cross fleuretty on the reverse. The obverse legend is crude being just +AVE repeated over and over. Compare Mitchiner number 433 onwards and similar examples later. Jettons of this design seem to date from the late 14th century through the 15th.
