A cast lead spindle whorl or possibly weight. It has a slightly domed top and flat base with a tapering circular hole running through it, slightly off centre. It is 27.1mm in diameter, 7.5mm thick and weights 27.07g, the hole is 9.7mm in diameter at the base, 7.3mm at the top. Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards and are hard to date precisely although most are late Medieval - Post Medieval.
