A fragment from a medieval finger-ring, consisting of a rectangular bezel with a recessed field engraved with the letters IH. The surface is much abraded and the characters difficult to read, but it may indicate the sacred monogram denoting the name of Christ, usually rendered IHC. The shoulders are decorated with incised squares, alternately hatched with diagonal lines.

The ring fragment is silver-gilt and dates from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century.

Dimensions: height 11 mm, width 17 mm.
