A cast lead object, probably a palm guard of Medieval or later date. It is oval shaped in form, dome-shaped and with a slightly concave back face, the edges suffering from some post-depositional damage. The object is undecorated but has a circular indentation at the centre of the back face. It measures 91.01mm in length, 53.04mm in width, 8.16mm in thickness, and weighs 215g. This object probably served as a simple palm guard used for leather working and similar activities. It is likely to be of Medieval or later date.
