A cast copper alloy Anglo-Scandinavian stirrup strap mount of Williams' Class A type 11. The mount is triangular in plan with a worn trefoil shaped upper terminal which contains a circular rivet hole, now encrusted with iron corrosion. The mount is quite worn but it has a raised outer border, within which is a rampant beast, similar to a lion or dog with its head thrown back in a howl and its right foreleg raised. Below this beast within the outer border is two rivet holes. On the reverse of the mount the base has a protruding lip, otherwise the reverse is plain. These mounts date to the 11th century AD of the Early Medieval period.
