A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of late medieval date, now missing its pin. The frame is broadly circular with a central pin bar; the pin is now missing. The reverse is flat, while the front is decorated with moulded raised and sunken panels that alternate around the inner and outer edge of the frame. This creates an effect described by Margeson (1993, 28; no. 159), discussing a parallel, as 'castellated'.
Diameter: 46.76mm; Thickness: 3.1mm; Weight: 17.06g
Another example can be found illustrated in Whitehead (1996, 46; no. 269) which he dates to the 15th century, though without providing supporting evidence for this.
