Thimble. Pressed flat-topped metal thimble with foot ring and a basal field of very fine vertical lines bearing the legend FORGET ME NOT; the finder considers this to be a humourous allusion to the dire consequences of needlework carried out without benefit of thimble. The rest of the thimble bears indentations, in concentric rings on the flat top. Now lightly squashed. Suggested date: Modern, 1900-1950.
