UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT

Unique ID: SF-EBDCE2

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete cast copper-alloy object of uncertain form, probably dating to the Medieval or later periods. It is flat, rectangular in form, and terminates in old breaks on at least two sides. One edge has semi-circular notches, or perhaps the remains of circular apertures, with a double grooved border. A similar border is just visible on the opposite edge, with bands of incised rocker decoration between arranged in an almost zig-zag motif. The back face is encrusted with corrosive iron product, while the front face has a dark green patina. It measures 15.81mm in length, 15.33mm in width, 1.71mm in thickness, and 1.49g in weight. This object is of uncertain form, altough the decorative elements and general appearance of object might indicate a Medieval or later date.
