Tip of a copper allloy blade from a Middle to Late Bronze Age spear of stepped blade type dated to c.1500-900 BC. The fragment consists of the tip of the blade which narrows from the break to the tip, the narrowing straight in the lower section but becmes more pronounced towards the tip. In cross section the balde has a pronounced circular sectioned mid rib which runs right to the tip and is flanked by narrowed ribs. There is then a gradually thinning plain section before a distinct carination to the edges. The edges thin in a concave curve on the front and back with the edge itself damaged and indented. the piece is 90.8mm long, 27.5mm wide at the widest point and 11.5mm thick.
