A medieval mirror case, comprising two cast discs, each with an opposed double and single lug. The two halves are now connected by a rivet through one double and one single lug. The opposing lugs remain unpierced. Both halves are decorated alike with four slightly curved lines of opposed stamped triangles creating a crude, rounded, open cross, and a median line of opposed stamped triangles between the double and single lugs. The decoration is slightly worn and there are traces of file marks on the sides and lugs. Internally, the cases are recessed and both contain complete glass (one cracked). The diameter (excluding lugs) is 31mm and the full length is 44mm. For similar examples, see Egan and Pritchard (2002, 362, fig. 241, no.s 1714 - 1716). This example dates from the 13th-14th century.
