An extremely worn and corroded, incomplete mid-16th century copper-alloy post-medieval shilling of Edward VI, first period, London mint (1547-1549 AD; North 1896).

Around a third of the coin has been lost at the circumference and into the coin. The remainder is slightly bent and creased, with three perforations.

Notes:

North (1975, 100; ref. 1896 n.) states that the only specimens recorded of this silver denomination are in brass alloy.
