Machine fitting. Cast rectangular section flat plate with a pointed end and smoothed edges; a countersunk screw hole to accommodate a shank of diameter 3.3mm appears at one end - the countersinking appears on both sides, so a variety of settings was envisaged for this object. Broken at one end and slightly bent. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1950.
