A fragment of a cast copper-alloy Roman finger ring. The ring is missing much of its bezel and hoop. The bezel was originally oval in shape, tapering from the shoulders towards the hoop. The bezel has the remains of an oval cell which would have held a setting, possibly an engraved intaglio, now missing. Traces of gilding survive on the interior of the ring, although elsewhere this has worn away. The ring is D shaped in section. It has a worn brown patina with areas of green copper-alloy corrosion. It measures 14.35 mm long and 12.16 mm wide. It weighs 1.9 grams. It is likely to date from the first to third centuries AD.
