A copper alloy Medieval buckle dating from c. 1300 - 1500 AD. It has a double looped frame with D shaped loops and a recessed central bar with a knop at each end. The pin is missing but the plate survives. It is made from a sheet of copper alloy folded in half round the bar. There is a slot for the pin, and the plate is connected by a single rivet at the end opposite the fold which has a large domed head and a large circular rove. There are traces of gilding on the plate.
