Incomplete copper alloy Roman bow brooch. The pin, part of the head, the foot and catch plate are missing. The majority of the head is missing, part of attachment which would hold the wing survives. The head continues seamlessly into the bow. The brooch thickens abruptly leave a distinct step between the bow and the head which has evidence of red enamel. The brooch widens about half way down the bow before tapering slightly towards the break before the foot. The brooch has a vertical convex ridge running along the centre of the brooch which thickens as it runs down the bow. At the point where it widens there are two sub-triangular wings which have been decorated with vertical incisions and have evidence of a red enamel. At the bottom of the bow the central ridge tapers towards the break before the foot. The reverse is flat and undecorated, it has a mid green patina with patches of the brown metal showing through.
