Fragment of a secondary flint flake with small areas of retouch around the edge. The bulb of percussion has been removed by retouch but the percussion ripples are very clear on the ventral face. The facets on the dorsal face suggest the core was probably worked from several directions. There is a small amount of cortex (less than 5% coverage) on the distal end. Around part of the ventral end is short abrupt parallel retouch wile the rest has a hinge fracture suggesting the bulb end was removed by a break before retouching, perhaps to form a scraping edge. There are several other chips around the edge and short areas of retouch on the ventral and dorsal face. At the middle of the left edge on the ventral face, short scalar semi-abrupt retouch has been used to create a short triangular projection however this does not project far enough to be a burin or awl. It is 21.5mm long, 21.8mm wide and 3.9mm thick; it weighs 1.92 grams.
Single worked flakes are hard to date but the general form is consistent with a Middle Neolithic to Bronze Age date.
