Complete 13th century D-shaped Limoges buckle with enamelled plate. The buckle is 25mm long and 15mm wide. It is slightly concave at the reverse. There are some moulded ridges at the shoulder and moulded linear decoration at the front of the frame. The pin is made from copper alloy plate cut into a triangular shape and curled around the strap bar. The plate is square in plan with two rivet holes, 1.5mm in diameter, at the two lower corners. The plate isn21mm x 16mm. The plate is attached to the buckle by curling it around the strap bar, with a square hole cut out of the plate to accommodate the pin. The plate at the reverse is broken with the corners missing. The enamel on the fornt of the plate has a red border with blue infill. There is a central three lobed object, probably a flower, outlined in a now degraded, lighter coloured enamel.
