Incomplete sheet copper alloy candle snuffer, now flattened, which would have originally been hollow and conical in form. It has a longitudinal soldered seam which has sprung apart due to being crushed. The apex is in the form of spheroidal knop which appears to be solid and cast separately as the adjacent seam does not extend over its surface. The knop is flat at the top and defined by an incised groove below. The base has a broken edge which may have been sheared off where the handle held the rest of the snuffer, as there is a circular aperture on one side which would have held the top of the handle.
