A complete cast copper alloy Roman finger ring probably of Henig's type VIII and dating from the 3rd century. The square-sectioned hoop flattens out at the angular shoulders and bezel. The shoulders have an incised triangular border and notches in the edges. The sub-circular bezel is raised and flat and is decorated with an incised crooked saltaire cross. There is some corrosion on the ring, but mainly it has a smooth dark brown patina. Similar examples on the database include NLM-256831, LVPL-C9B744, DUR-52B601 and SF-EBE6F5.
